KEP 2025 Talk Series | ‘Journey of the Universe’ – Film Screening and Half-day Nature Experience

Join us for a half-day nature experience at KFBG, featuring the film screening of ‘Journey of the Universe’ and a post-screening online exchange with the producers, Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim, who are the Senior Lecturers and Research Scholars at Yale University. ‘Journey of the Universe’ is a multimedia project presenting an epic story of cosmic Earth and human evolution. It consists of an Emmy Award-winning film drawing on the discoveries of modern science and the wisdom of the world's cultures.

The film narrates the 14-billion-year story of the universe's development, from the great flaring forth at its inception to the emergence of simple molecules and atoms, from the evolution of galaxies, stars and solar systems to planetary life of greater complexity and consciousness. This is a story that inspires wonder as we begin to understand this complexity through science and appreciate beauty through poetry, art, history, philosophy and religion. In times of immense challenge on every front – socially, politically, ecologically and spiritually, we need a new story to reorient and ground ourselves to meet these challenges. A comprehensive story of the universe, Earth and humans can inspire transformation in our times and move us toward the creative flourishing of the Earth community.

  • Solo time with moderated forest-immersion guided support in the beautiful lower stream area of KFBG.
